Psychology of love

Today I had a conversation with one of the guys from one of my classes and when we got done talking and I sat back down one of my friends told me she thinks he likes me. This stirred up my brain a little as I had always thought of him as just a friend. I asked her what made her think he liked me. She said he smiled at me a lot and kept moving closer to me. So naturally this brought a lot of questions to me, and I wondered how to truly tell if someone likes you or not.

It was only during this experience that I realized I do stereotype people. I stereotyped every guy I have ever liked into a category that I tried to make them fit in. I didn't like this guy even though he like me because he wasn't my "type". During this I realized the full potential of the stereotype threat. I had missed out on so many potential great guys because I thought they wouldn't be right for me because they didn't fit the stereotype of my ideal man.
